HPC tension wrench STW-3 is a ‘variable tension’ style design, with a sliding steel washer that can lock the two arms into a keyway fairly firmly.

This version of HPC’s variable tension wrench is made for tulip knobs and other lock cylinders that have a recessed or concave profile. The tulip syle knob isn’t as popular as it once was, but they are still around and the angle on STW-4 will help access the keyway and still keep the tension wrench at roughly a 90 degree angle to the lock.
