The backset of a lock is the measurement from the front of the lock (forend) to the middle of the keyway of either a cylinder cut out or mortice keyhole.
Keyed alike: All padlocks in this set operate with the same key. Master Keyed: Each padlock in this set has a key that will operate only the lock to which it is assigned. The master key assigned to this set will open all locks in the set.
With the safe open push the red button on the back of the door near the hinge – release it and you will hear 2 beeps. The yellow light will be on at the same time. Now press from 3 to 8 numbers that you wish to use as a combination and confirm by pressing the letter “A” or “B” within 15 seconds. The safe beeps twice again and the yellow light will go off – your personal code has now been reset. It is important to ALWAYS check before closing the safe that your new code has been set correctly.
Contact your nearest locksmith for help opening the safe.
Determining handing when ordering door locks is a bit different than how you determine door handing for carpentry (ordering and hanging doors).
- Determine the handing of your door by standing on the outside of the door.
- If the hinge is on the right, it’s a right handed door, and you need a right handed lock.
- If the hinge is on the left, it’s a left handed door, and you need a left handed lock.

Press the shackle down. With the shackle down rotate it 90° – reset your personal combination. Memorise or record the secret number. Turn the shackle back to the locking position and pull the shackle up. Your lock is now ready to use – scramble the dials.

Each manufacturer has its unique way to change the latch. In some cases the locks are handed and the latch cannot be changed. If you know the brand or code of the lock please visit our support page to find instructions – or alternatively fill out the support form and we will get back to you.
Always use a dry lubricant for locks – which does not attract dust like an oil or grease does. Graphite powder is recommended and available at your hardware store. Maintaining your locks using the correct dry lubricant will prolong its life.
